Tough Village Board meeting last night but after much conversation (some good and some not so good), the Village Board directed staff to prepare an ordinance establishing the framework for a new initiative for sustaining and growing Lisle's FUTURE.
The new LEDC (Lisle Economic Development Corporation) is a public-private organization that promotes business interests in the VOL. The mission will be to enhance the economic vitality of Lisle and maintain its outstanding quality of life through the retention and expansion of existing businesses while
attracting new businesses to the community.
This proposed model is based on similar models used successfully by Choose Dupage, Downers Grove and Naperville.
Change is hard but necessary to move our community forward.
